To all my faithful readers: Wow. Thank you for still being here lmao. I bet you were shocked.

Cen Si Miao stayed in the hotel for a while, and then used the gallery as an excuse to go home. The moment she stepped through the door, she hadn’t even been able to take a deep breath before the house line rang.

She was stunned for a moment, before walking over to pick up the phone.

On the screen was Hu Yinli’s number. Seeing this, she dug through her bag to find her mobile phone, and saw that she still had battery, and there was a signal. With narrowed eyes, she answered the phone.

“Yinli.”

The caller paused noticeably, as though he hadn’t thought that his call would actually be answered. His voice was filled with fatigue. “Miao Miao, where’ve you gone to play this time?”

A few days ago, Cen Si Miao had posted a photo of herself having fun outside on her social media account, and Hu Yinli knew about it. But at that time, she’d promised to only play around for a few days, but she’d actually ended up playing outside for a whole week.

Opening her luggage, Cen Si Miao asked, “Why didn’t you call my phone?” Her words didn’t hold any feeling, and made her sound like she was angry.

Hu Yinli furrowed his eyebrows tightly, and his relaxed expression was all but gone. “Where have you been these few days?”

“At home.”

Gripping the phone tightly, Hu Yinli’s voice was somewhat annoyed. “Stop fooling around.”

Cen Si Miao shot a glance at the phone and switched on speaker mode before placing it on the ground. Then, she started to keep her clothes. As she remained quiet, Hu Yinli got more and more worked up.

Finally, he ended up raising his voice, as though he were quarrelling with her.

After a while, Cen Si Miao made her voice more gentle, sounding like she was sobbing. “Why’re you even asking me this? Do you even care anyway? Are you aware of how long it’s been since we’ve last seen each other?”

In a flash, she was able to poke at his weak point, and Hu Yinli could only grit his teeth.

Cen Si Miao continued. “These days, you’ve only been dialling the house phone, yet you refused to call my mobile. Are you suspicious of me?”

“Hu Yinli, do you even deserve me?” With this, she hung up.

Immediately, the phone rung again, but Cen Si Miao only glanced at it for a moment before ignoring it.

As for the gallery, she did indeed have a general outline for it. Xu Senni’s side was also incredibly hardworking, and she’d done most of the work herself. When she needed to make any decisions, she would also discuss it with her.

Xu Senni had found a bunch of artworks that she admired, and although they weren’t masterpieces, they were all rising stars. Still, because it was a business, they had to get ahold and own some artworks, so she didn’t just want to sign a contract but instead buy off the actual artworks. However, doing it this way would incur incredibly high costs.

Her face had been upset and frowny as she struggled for several days. But Cen Si Miao simply patted her big thigh and said, “Just buy ah. What’re you scared for, my husband doesn’t lack any money.”

Xu Senni looked over at her, her eyes carrying a trace of laughter.

Artworks could be split into two categories: real works, and imitations. Under Xu Senni’s calculations, a huge amount of cash was used to buy up the whole bunch of fake paintings to be hung up in the gallery. This would definitely ruin the reputation of the gallery, and the blow would send Cen Si Miao reeling. As for herself, from start to finish, she simply wouldn’t appear. After all, she was merely the person sending the money, so she wouldn’t be implicated at all.

Moreover, imitations were cheap, so she’d managed to pocket a whole load of money.

At first, she’d planned on leaving the money alone, but it just so happened that in the collection of artworks, there had actually been a real piece that quickly caught her eyes. It was a breathtaking piece, and she’d ended up gritting her teeth to actually buy it up, and secretly keep it with her.

Meanwhile, Cen Si Miao was seemingly unsuspecting, constantly saying “Xu jie, Xu jie” all the time.

Now, the only worrisome thing on her mind was Hu Yinli. He’d seemed to have a change of heart, and she didn’t know what he was planning on doing. Everyday he wanted to leave her side, and if it weren’t for her gripping onto him tightly, he probably would’ve run off to Cen Si Miao’s place long ago.

In the blink of an eye, a month had passed, and Wu Li Chen was almost done with filming. The moment he was able to take a break, he was either polishing up a line in his script, or texting away to Cen Si Miao.

He didn’t send her texts, and only shared posts.

Looking at their chat history, Cen Si Miao cleared her throat before looking around her. Then she seriously and sincerely replied.

The other side waited for 5 minutes before replying. And so Cen Si Miao chose to make the first move and run over to his place.

In the end, the first person she bumped into wasn’t Wu Li Chen, who’d been busy filming at that time. Instead, she met his roommate Luo Yu, who recognised Cen Si Miao on sight and affectionately called her ‘jie‘.

For some reason, he insisted on bringing her to the shooting site to walk around no matter what. Luo Yu was tall and broad, and his smile came with two cute dimples. His eyes were bright and shiny, making his whole person seem energetic.

After reaching the place, Cen Si Miao started looking around sweeping her eyes across, but she wasn’t able to find Wu Li Chen.

Happily, Luo Yu tried to hold onto Cen Si Miao’s arm, but she didn’t even hesitate to dodge out of his way. Undeterred, he continued smiling, and said, “You won’t be able to find him here. He’s right in front, I’ll bring you there.”

Meanwhile, Wu Li Chen was filming a scene where his character first met the female lead.

The peach blossoms were budding, a light breeze was blowing, and the air was suffused with a sweet scent. There he stood, straight and unruffled. Originally, he seemed to exude a gloomy aura, but suddenly when he raised his head to look at Ye Min Chi, standing beneath the blossom tree, he suddenly seemed shocked. His eyebrows became less furrowed, his eyes seemed to soften, and a slight smile appeared on his lips.

It was as though he’d become another person.

She’d come.

Standing not far behind Ye Min Chi was Cen Si Miao, excitedly running towards Wu Li Chen. She’d already gone all the way there, if he still didn’t come over to her then he wouldn’t like the next thing coming out of her mouth.

Wu Li Chen didn’t have anything to film in the afternoon, and originally he’d wanted to just relax together with Cen Si Miao, but Luo Yu that blockhead simply clung onto Cen Si Miao like a limpet – wherever she went, he would follow. Finally, when Wu Li Chen mentioned going back to the hotel to rest, Luo Yu still went to suggest going out to have a drink.

Wu Li Chen’s expression didn’t change, but just as he was about to reject him, he saw Ye Min Chi come over.

Lowering her head, Cen Si Miao hid the smile on he face before coughing lightly, drawing the attention to herself. “Then let’s just go out and eat, it’s about lunchtime anyway.”

On the way, Luo Yu’s mouth never stopped moving, and he was constantly trying to get Cen Si Miao to talk. Just a sound of agreement from her could get him to spew out a whole bunch of nonsense.

It wasn’t easy to get him to stop, but when he finally ran out of words, Ye Min Chi, filled with hidden intentions, mentioned how quiet it was.

When they finally got to the restaurant, Wu Li Chen carried Cen Si Miao’s bag and was about to help her pull out her chair before he was beaten to it by a smiling Luo Yu.

“Cen jie, you can sit first!”

Furrowing his eyebrows, Wu Li Chen unhappily said, “Luo Yu, you’re already 28 years old and you still go around calling people ‘jie‘.”

Luo Yu only smiled in response.

After returning to the hotel lobby, Wu Li Chen bought two bottles of water. Eyeing Ye Min Chi and Luo Yu, he gave them one bottle, before opening another one. Just as he turned around, he caught sight of Luo Yu giving his water to Cen Si Miao.

Wu Li Chen took big gulps of his water.

Cen Si Miao frowned. “What did you eat that made you so thirsty?”

Wu Li Chen’s gaze was like ice. “The food was very salty.”

This time, Cen Si Miao took the initiative to enter Wu Li Chen’s room. He went to wash up first, and after a while, the water stopped, but he hadn’t exited.

Cen Si Miao heard him yell, “Help me get a pair of underpants from the closet.”

She’d been playing with her phone when she heard this, and immediately stopped what she was doing. She sighed. Even if she couldn’t have it, she could still admire it.

After walking over to his closet, she rummaged around for a pair of underpants, a light blue pair with dark stripes. Then she cautiously knocked on the door.

The moment the door opened, a cloud of steam hit her face, and even when squinting she could only see a faint outline of his figure. Hearing a hoarse, deep voice, she was stunned.

His voice didn’t sound like normal. Don’t tell her… he’d just been doing it?

Taking two steps in, she placed the underpants on the clothing rack and was about to leave. Suddenly, she felt something warm on her, and heard the sound of water dripping beside her ear.

In a split second, her clothes became wet, and the thin material clung to her body, outlining her curved. Her hair stuck to her neck, and her chin was dotted with beads of water.

The voice behind her seemed slightly upset. “I accidentally pressed on the shower knob. Do you want to shower with me?”

Cen Si Miao turned around and pounced onto him.

The next morning, Ye Min Chi came over to knock on the door. When Wu Li Chen opened it, her eyes were full of curiosity, and she took a quick sweep of the room when she entered. There was no one else inside.

Smiling, she asked, “Li Chen, after you finish filming this, what plans do you have?”

Wu Li Chen sat down on the sofa, straightforwardly asking, “What happened to Luo Yu?”

Ye Min Chi’s face turned ugly, having assumed that he wouldn’t be so blunt, and her voice sounded hurt when she answered, “I really admire you, you don’t need to go down this path.”

He raised his head.

After hesitating for a moment, Ye Min Chi decided to be frank. “I know your household has some problems, but this is temporary. As long as there’s someone who’s sincerely willing to help you out, and brave the difficulties with you…”

Before ending her sentence, she took a glance at Wu Li Chen.

His brows were furrowed.

Ye Min Chi cleared her throat. “I think there’s definitely someone who’s willing to help you.”

Wu Li Chen leaned against the sofa, his chin raised, with one thigh placed on his knee.

Seeing that Ye Min Chi wasn’t intending to continue, he spoke.

“But Cen jie is really pretty.”

Ye Min Chi froze.

He continued. “I don’t need any saviour, all I need is for Luo Yu and you to distance yourselves from Cen jie.”

A few days passed, and Cen Si Miao had a particularly comfortable time staying with the cast and crew. Soon enough the day of the gallery’s opening came, and although Xu Senni didn’t plan on showing up, she still wanted to go and have a laugh.

Secretly, she drove there and stopped in front of the gallery’s entrance.

It was completely void of people, and the main doors were tightly shut, as though the gallery were closed.

Eyes widening, Xu Senni hurriedly contacted the guests invited to come today, and ended up finding out that Cen Si Miao had informed them that the gallery wouldn’t be opening today.

Heart uneasy, she anxiously gave a call to Cen Si Miao, who only picked up after numerous tries.

Her voice was tired. “Who is this, what’s wrong?”

Xu Senni sounded incredibly anxious. “What’s going on, why isn’t the gallery opening being held today? Everyone I invited said that it had been your idea. Why didn’t you tell me beforehand?”

Laying on the sofa, Cen Si Miao’s legs were huddled together and she kneaded her eyes slowly. “How can we open our gallery? All of those artworks are imitations, if we hang them up we’ll become the joke of the town.”

“You… What’re you saying…”

Hanging up, Cen Si Miao rolled over to continue sleeping, but ended up rolling off the sofa. She hit Wu Li Chen, who had been sleeping beside the sofa, and he was startled awake.

Eyes wide, he asked, “What happened?”

Drowsy-eyed, Cen Si Miao’s free hands embraced his neck, her head rubbing up against his chest as she weakly murmured, “Tired.”

I forgot how much fun this book is to translate… because it’s so much easier. Like seriously Peach Blossoms isn’t as hard as Royals crazy ancient Chinese haircombs but all those gaming terms are… difficult.
