I Don’t Want This White Moonlight Anymore! C6.1

C6.1

As soon as Zhao Yinqing heard the voice, her back unconsciously straightened and the hairs on her body raised.

Liu Siqi saw her son walk over, and finding a rescuer, she lifted the clothes in her hands. “I still can’t really decide, let’s go to another store and look.”

Sun Lu replied, “Up to you, but I have something on today, so I need to leave soon.”

It was the weekend, and it was also the long week[1], so it was rare to get a day off.

Liu Siqi put down the clothes in her hand. “Then forget it, I’ll buy something next time.”

Zhao Zhengyang immediately took the chance to open his mouth. “It’s a rare discount, and the style is also pretty nice. Clothes are like people — if you like them then you need to act fast, otherwise you might not be able to get ahold of them later on.”

Finally, Sun Lu looked over, and his gaze swept over Zhao Zhengyang’s face before he turned towards Zhao Yinqing and frowned.

Zhao Yinqing immediately drew the line to distance herself. “I’m here to buy clothes, it’s a coincidence.”

“You come to stores for middle-aged people?”

She pointed at Old Zhao, saying, “My dad’s buying for his girlfriend.”

“Hey, what kind of nonsense are you spouting?” Zhao Zhengyang complained to her.

Sun Lu wasn’t interested in knowing about the father-daughter pair, and turned back to Liu Siqi. She did like the clothes in her hands, but it was really too expensive for her. Even if it came at a discounted price, it was still more than a few thousand yuan. She was just a mere factory worker, how much could she afford to spend based on her monthly pay?

So, she threw aside the clothes and said, “Let’s go!”

As she passed by Zhao Zhengyang, she politely smiled at him. Her gentle features were like the surface of a calm lake. The moment she smiled, there was a gradual ripple in her expression, making people feel tempted.

“Okay, stop looking now, she’s already walked far, far away.” Zhao Yinqing couldn’t bear it and spoke.

As the two walked out, Zhao Zhengyang asked. “Is that your classmate?”

“En.”

“Is his mother divorced?”

Zhao Yinqing scolded him. “Can’t you be nicer to other people?”

“I’m just asking!”

This bad old man!

Liu Siqi was indeed single, but she’d been widowed, not divorced.

According to hearsay, when Sun Lu had been very young, her husband had had an accident and passed away. The mother and son thus only had each other to rely on, and they’d had a pretty hard time.

In her previous life, when Zhao Yinqing had found out about his family’s situation, she’d felt very distressed and came up with all kinds of ways to help him out. But Sun Lu had felt like she’d taken him in as a charity case, which had been a hit to his pride, and in a flash labelled Zhao Yinqing as worthless.

Bowing her head, she cleared her mind of the cruel images from those days.

Now is now, and the present her was different.

After this, time passed relatively smoothly, and very quickly the second monthly exam arrived.

The workload in high school was heavy, and it was too much trouble to switch seats every month, so the form teacher changed his mind and made it such that they would change seats every semester according to the same rules. At this, the students booed disappointedly.

Zhao Yinqing also followed and sighed deeply. Ah, she was really dying, she still wouldn’t be able to get rid of the God of Plagues next to her and her heart was tired.

“Is it really burdensome to be sitting next to me?” Hearing her sigh, Ke Junzhi couldn’t help but ask.

She immediately shook her head. “No, I think you’re pretty good.”

“Really?” Ke Junzhi was inexplicably disappointed. “All of you girls seem to like guys like Sun Lu, for fatties like us, no matter how hard we work it’s still no use.”

Zhao Yinqing glanced at his slightly large figure. “Fatty?”

“You say, is it true that no matter what I do I’ll never be as good as Sun Lu?”

“No, of course not. Till this point I still don’t understand what’s so good about Sun Lu.”

“Seriously?” Ke Junzhi’s eyes lit up, and he pushed up the frame of his glasses. “Everyone says that he’s not only good looking, but also has good grades, plus he doesn’t fool around with girls, so he doesn’t have any flaws.”

“But he also doesn’t take care of people, and is very rude. Everyday his expression doesn’t look good, as though other people owe him hundreds of thousands of dollars. If you put it nicely, he’s cold, but in fact he just has no EQ.”

Ke Junzhi nodded in agreement. “Us men all think he’s not easy to get along with.”

Zhao Yinqing followed up, “If you can’t get along with him, then don’t. These kinds of people…”

“Du du du”. Suddenly, there were a few knocks on their desks. The person’s fingers were long and curved, and in contrast to the table, his hands looked as white as porcelain, and a black cord hung around his slender wrist.

The two of them had been lying on their tables to talk. Ke Junzhi was the first to raise his head, and then he immediately straightened his back and sat properly.

Sun Lu’s gaze was cold as he stared at the two of them before he passed them the English worksheets. “Forgot to give it.”

Ke Junzhi gave a guilty response and took the worksheets.

Sun Lu then looked at Zhao Yinqing, and fixed his gaze on her for a few seconds.

Swallowing with difficulty, she feared that she’d be viciously insulted by him again as he did in her previous life. Those insults had come with sharp thorns and had directly pierced her heart, leaving a shadow on her till now.

The status quo of mutually ignoring each other was pretty good. Why had she started talking about him out of nowhere? It was really just her stepping on her own foot.

Thankfully, without saying a word, Sun Lu turned and left.

Ke Junzhi heaved a sigh of relief and said, “This person’s aura is really far too frightening. The saying’s right, it really is bad to talk bad about people behind their backs.”

After a heavy storm, the temperature dropped sharply, and the whole school changed to wear their winter uniforms.

As for Zhao Yinqing, she would go in and out of school with her face buried in her collar.

Soon enough, the Christmas atmosphere permeated throughout the campus. This western holiday had become extremely popular in China, almost becoming an alternative to Valentine’s day, and students around the campus started to prepare gifts for their loved ones.

Even the good student Dou Na wasn’t an exception to this, although she was buying it for her elder cousin that she got along with. As such, she called Zhao Yinqing to accompany her to buy a gift.

Regarding buying and sending gifts, this had been something that Zhao Yinqing had done numerous times in her past life. But those gifts had been relatively expensive, and were all luxury goods. Of course, Sun Lu still treated them like trash.

Dou Na’s budget was limited, and Zhao Yinqing naturally had to take this into account, although she still wasn’t too sure about the exact price range Dou Na would be alright with.

As they wandered around the shopping street, Dou Na had gone into several shops to look around, but she still hadn’t found anything suitable. Zhao Yinqing took the chance to note down her price range, and found that everything seemed to be within the 300 yuan range.

“It’s getting colder nowadays, why don’t you buy him something like a patterned scarf or a sweater? This way it’ll be more practical.” Zhao Yinqing suggested.

Dou Na put down a woolen hat and nodded, agreeing, “Yeah, I think so too.”

TL Notes:

  1. It was mentioned at the start of the book that their school has two kinds of weeks: the long and short week. Not sure how they’re split up, but I think for the long week they only get one day off per week.

Double chapter for today again! Enjoy your Christmas Eve friends. Today I will be eating some nice roast chicken and playing Just Dance. Very glad I will not be eating turkey. Turkey sucks. Very dry and hard. Not great to eat.

I want to see how the author would make a path for him to fall for her. She looks very much wanted to avoid him. And if he reall falls for her, will he see how he used to treat even to the point of smashing her grave and insulting her there?
