I Don’t Want This White Moonlight Anymore! C4.2

C4.2

“In that whole area, Zhao Yinqing is the only girl. Damn, it’s really a speck of red amongst a green field.”

“Are you jealous?”

“Me, jealous of her? You’re joking. This kind of person who studies like a fool but can’t even raise her grades, does she even deserve my jealousy?”

Shi Tingting laughed along and said, “What ranking do you guys guess she’ll get in the next one?”

“Dead last, probably.”

“But she should give Sun Lu to us.”

Shi Tingting replied, “You’re really infatuated with Sun Lu.”

“You’re talking as though it’s some sort of surprise.”

“Surprise for what? It’s just like that.”

After eating, the moment Zhao Yinqing thought of Sun Lu sitting next to her, her teeth hurt, and so she turned around to go to the toilet.

As she stood in front of the sink to wash her hands, a figure leaned over. Zhao Yinqing didn’t even raise her head before the girl opened her mouth to speak.

“I heard you wanted to switch seats.”

Shi Tingting stood diagonally behind her. Examining Zhao Yinqing’s expression, she put away her previous aggressiveness and deliberately humbled herself. “Why don’t I switch with you. I just so happen to not want to sit in front of the window, it’s too noisy.”

Zhao Yinqing shook her wet hands and said, “Sorry, recently I’ve also been liking the quiet environment better.”

Shi Tingting replied, “Isn’t Chen Xue also sitting next to the window? Then why were you willing to switch with her?”

“Are you her?”

Zhao Yinqing looked leisurely, but her words obviously carried an intent to fight.

Shi Tingting immediately choked, but she forced herself to relax and replied, “We’ve never had any big fight, so why are you suddenly acting like this now?”

Zhao Yinqing was too lazy to fight with her about this issue, so she turned and left.

Agitated by her attitude, Shi Tingting viciously said, “Now that you’re sitting in the middle of a whole group of boys, do you feel accomplished? Zhao Yinqing, you should restrain yourself and stop being so shameless.”

Zhao Yinqing stopped walking, and cruelly replied, “I don’t want to restrain myself. If I want to be shameless, so what? You can’t bear to see me sitting next to Sun Lu? I’m telling you, now that I’m sitting next to him everyday, the early bird gets the worm. If anything actually happens, I’ll always be one step in front of you!”

Hearing this, Shi Tingting was angered till her face turned white.

“Heng”, Zhao Yinqing huffed, looked at her gloatingly, and seeing that she couldn’t respond, decided to leave.

In the end, after her face changed colours for a bit, Shi Tingting then ran away.

Hey, she really doesn’t have any fighting spirit at all.

Zhao Yinqing curled her lips in disdain.

At this, a boy suddenly exited the men’s washroom. He was slender, and even the completely unflattering red and white school uniform looked strangely fashionable on him.

Sun Lu walked to the sink to wash his hands, earphones plugged in his ears. The white earphone cord draped over his face and his eyelids drooped, with his thin and long eyelashes casting long shadows.

Zhao Yinqing froze on the spot, staring at this newcomer, praying in her heart for him to quickly leave. In the end, Sun Lu unexpectedly stopped in front of her.

Those eyes, cold like ice, looked at her coldly.

The height difference between the two was bigger than half a head, and Zhao Yinqing had to crane her neck to look up at him.

However, Sun Lu didn’t speak, and only swept his gaze over her like she was a piece of trash before leaving.

After seeing him walk far away from her, Zhao Yinqing finally heaved a sigh of relief. Shit, that had really scared her!

Sun Lu probably should’ve heard those words just now right?

It was also better that he’d heard them. Now, she hoped that in the future they would never have to meet, and go their separate paths peacefully!

Her new deskmate was called Ke Junzhi, a familiar and enthusiastic boy who was always trying to start a conversation with Zhao Yinqing.

Unfortunately, Zhao Yinqing who needed to study hard and change her life could only let him down. Thus, Ke Junzhi had no choice but to find other people to play with. To be honest, you wouldn’t be able to find a single hint of a good student’s attitude on this guy.

Ah, comparing herself to other people would only make her angry! [1]

As students, no matter whether it was during class time or when they were doing work, it seemed like almost everyone liked to twirl their pens for fun.

Ke Junzhi was especially fond of doing this, and he twirled his pen like a hotwheel, feeling like the faster it went the cooler it was. Because of this, his pen fell to the floor countless times.

“Little Zhao, Little Zhao,” Ke Junzhi hit her lightly a few times, “My pen dropped on your side, help me pick it up!”

Zhao Yinqing turned her head to look at him. Really a good fellow, that black pen of his had directly spun under Sun Lu’s leg.

“I’m not going. Men and women can’t get too close together, so I don’t want to go.”

“You’re just picking up a pen, it’s fine.”

Zhao Yinqing shook her head and steadfastedly refused.

Ke Junzhi pouted, but after realising it was useless to act cute, he could only lean over and yell softly. “Classmate Sun Lu, could I trouble you to help me pick up my pen please, thank you.”

Sun Lu was colder than cold, but he also wasn’t an unreasonable person.

Turning his gaze down, he leaned over and picked up the pen. Ke Junzhi placed his hands in a flower shape and prepared to receive it.

Without saying a word, Sun Lu directly threw it over. As a result, he missed his mark, and hit Zhao Yinqing in the head.

The three of them: …

TL Notes:

  1. 人比人比死人: chinese proverb. It means you’ll be happier if you stop comparing yourself to other people. (Basically, because Ke Junzhi got paired with Zhao Yinqing, it means his grades are in the top half, yet he doesn’t treat his studies seriously at all.)

Announcement!

Release Schedule (from 26/12/2020 onwards)

3 times per week – Monday, Wednesday, Saturday (possible 4th on any day if I feel up to it)

The reason why I will no longer be updating daily from the 26th is because I’ll be working from Mon-Sat full time, and I need to stockpile chapters in case I can’t muster up the energy to translate on certain days. Whenever I have holidays (aka Christmas/CNY) I might do double posts since I’ll have more time.

This altered release schedule will last until early April, after which I will likely be able to return to daily updates.

Schedule TILL 25/12/2020

Wednesday (23/12): entire C5 (aka 2 parts) 10AM GMT

Thursday (24/12): entire C6 (aka 2 parts) 9AM GMT

Friday (christmas day!): entire C7 (aka 2 parts) by 4PM GMT

Translating doesn’t take too much time, it just takes energy, so I should be able to make it on Christmas 🙂 I know this year’s Christmas might be different for many of you, so I hope this cheers you up a little.

Who wears earphones whennusing the bathroom? Incomprehensible…

I just hope she can study in peace and improve steadily. That ought to change the views of the students who ridiculed her!
